JM Spraying lawn
Pre-Emergents

The backbone to any lawn care program are the pre-emergents.   We are spraying this last pre & post emergent before the summer begins until the end of May..

Pre-emergents should be watered in within 14 days after treatment and before mowing, unless you mulch.

Time to Start Watering Those Lawns

Lawns need 1 inch of water each week, preferrably divided into two separate occasions.  It is much better for your lawn to give it two deep soakings each week, than to water for a short time every day.  Additionally it is best to water in the early morning.  If you must water after work, grass needs time to dry before nightfall.

April is for Aerations

Yes, April is a great month for a Spring aeration.  An aeration removes small plugs of dirt, allowing air, water, nutrients, sunlight to go straight to root system.

Bugs, Bugs, Bugs EVERYWHERE

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I predict bugs will be horrible this year.  We have had reports of fleas earlier than ever before.  I have already sprayed twice around the perimeter of my house to keep the ants outside.  So yes, now is the time for a perimeter insecticide spray and/or a flea and tick application to keep our pets safe and happy.  (Preventative Grub applications are best applied in June or July.)

Spray Weeds

Do You Have Green, Yellow, & Purple Weeds?

Now is the perfect time of year to start a lawn care program.  The backbone to any lawn care program are the pre-emergents that keep many weeds from coming up in the Spring. Additionally our post-emergent will kill many of the weeds that have already bloomed in your lawn.   Pre-emergents should be watered in within 14 days after treatment

Are You Tired of Pulling Weeds in Your Flowerbeds?

We have a flowerbed weed control program that works much like our lawn weed control program.  It is about 70-80% effective and it will not harm your flowers, trees, or shrubs.  Let me know if you would like a FREE estimate.

Aeration in April

An aeration removes plugs of dirt to allow water, air, and nutriets to go straight to the root system. Many believe an aeration is the secret weapon to a beautiful healthy lawn.

Pre-Emergents

Now is the perfect time of year to start a lawn care program.  The backbone to any lawn care program are the pre-emergents that keep those pesky broadleaf weeds from coming up in the spring.  Middle of January we will begin spraying the first of two pre- emergents.  Pre-emergents should be watered in within 14 days after treatment   This time of year, we normally get enough rain in Oklahoma therefore mother nature should water in the treatment for you.

Grub
Grubs

Everyone has some grubs, but when you have too many grubs they will eat too much of the roots of your grass and leave you with huge bare spots (1/4 to 1/2 of your lawn) nothing but dirt.  By the time you realize you have a grub problem, damage has already been done.  Due to our mild winter and plenty of rain this Spring, we are predicting that it will be an active grub season. Please call (or email) the office if you would like a grub treatment.

Fertilize and Weed Control

The three summer/early fall rounds are both a fertilzer and weed control.  As a result of the drought year, many have told me they have thin spots in the lawn.  To thicken up the yard, all three of the fertilizer applications are important.

Applications should be watered in within 5 days and before you mow (unless you mulch).

Tired of Pulling Weeds in Your Flower Beds?

Now is the time for a Flower Bed Pre-emergent!  The application is about 70-80% effective.  These applications will not harm your flowers, bushes, or trees.  The weed control for flower beds program consists of 3 pre-emergents with the first being applied at the beginning of the year with round 1.  Additionally during the summer when we are applying the lawn applications, we will also spray any grassy weeds that pop up in your flowerbeds.

Sprinkler

Watering Your Lawn

To achieve a healthy green lawn, the goal is one inch of water per week.  We recommend setting your sprinkler system to 30 minutes per zone, twice per week.  If you do not have a sprinkler system, an old fashioned sprinkler will work just fine.

Spring Has Arrived!  It is now time to scalp your lawn, aerate your lawn, and lawns need one inch of water per week.

Pre-Emergents

We will begin spraying round 2 this week. (For new customers, we will continue to spray round 1 until the end of March/first week of April.)  Rounds 1 and 2 are both pre-emergents that will keep those pesky broadleaf weeds from coming up in the spring and summer.  Both rounds are crucial to providing the beautiful lawn that everyone desires come summer time.

Pre-emergents should be watered in within 14 days and before you mow (unless you mulch).

AerationAeration - We are now doing aerations!

Aeration is the secret weapon in making your lawn healthy. Aeration involves making holes in the lawn either by pushing a rod into it or by "coring", extracting a plug of soil. Aerations allow nutriets and water to better reach the root system and remove thatch.

Tegan flowers  Weed Control for Flowerbeds -- Time to start!

Would you like more time to enjoy your flowers rather than spending all your time pulling weeds?  We have a weed control program specifically for flowerbeds.  It is 70-80% effective.  The treatment is applied 3 times per year with the first application being applied NOW.  As part of the service, whenever we are spraying your lawn application, we will also spray grassy weeds in your flower beds.

As the temps rise, so will fleas and ticks. I have a flea and tick program that works well.  I apply the application twice,10-14 days apart.  On my own yard, I normally apply it in late spring/early summer.  Some years, I need to treat the yard again in late summer/early fall.  I have two dogs, live next to a field and a creek, and the treatment works very well.

Sprinker System - Service and Repair

We can service/repair your sprinkler system on an as needed basis or we can set up an schedule for service.
